Analysis Of Titles Within OTS
in OTS' there are a set list of titles that role to show the names of the important people involved. the order of these credits are determined by guild rules, SAG, the DGA, WGA and other unions. the opening credits are rolled in the importance of the film and not just linearly. first, the motion picture company followed by the producer, then the 'a film by' credit. After, we see the title followed by the cast then the order of importance goes backwards to get to the director.
The list goes: distributor production company distribution company title lead cast supporting cast cast director music composer costume designer associate producers editors production designer director of photography executive producer producer writer(s) director |
the horror film Se7en conforms to this list but sometimes horror don't because they don't want you to move your attention from whats happening to the titles too much because the OTS often give the audience hints to the storyline

SAW doesn't use this list for the same reasons as they put the writer and director as one of the first credits to be shown. this is because whats shown on screen at this point is actually more important

Here are two more opening title sequences the conform to the list of of credits.
This is another example of an its that doesn't conform to the normal order of the credits, this is only because it's a TV show and they have less time to credit everyone at the beginning.
