Don'ts 1. Don't laugh during filming! - This will immediately kill the mood of the scene and is unprofessional.
2. Don't zoom! - Zooming blurs the image and, again, is unprofessional and should not be performed.
3. Don't go off-topic! - Going off-topic is almost the same a laughing on camera, it kills the mood and should not be done.
4. Don't look at the camera - Looking at the camera is not recommended as it kills the mood of the scene and the performance.
Do's 1. Plan using storyboards - Planning using storyboards makes it easier for you and your group to establish the types of shots that you will be using, and the scenes in your film.
2. Label Everything - Make sure that everything is labeled so that nothing gets lost.
3. Use a variety of shots - Using a variety of shots keeps the audience interested in the video!
4. Repeat takes- This shows planning and allows for improvement.
5. Use a Tripod - This minimises shaking and blurred images.
6. Plan Location - Planning the location means you can make sure the scene is the way you want it to feel e.g darkness or dim lighting for horror scenes.
7. Use a Microphone - Using a microphone produces clearer sound when editing, and can pick up weaker sounds.
8. Act like you mean it! - Acting is a key part of the video and must look convincing.
9. Keep to the Brief - Sticking to the brief means you and the rest of your group is always organised and knows what to do next.
10. Make a Risk Assessment - Formulate a Risk Assessment so you and others know what and what not to do.
