Titles of horror films and carefully chosen to directly connect with its content like Psycho, its simple and straight to the point because the plot is about a psycho murderer. Title containing one to three words are the most impactful as they are simple and wouldn't allow much thought process and won't think too much into it. Titles starting with the word 'the' are also good titles, 'the' is a determiner and means one specific thing or a single group. This makes the audience question why a singular insignificant thing could cause so much hassle and horror. 'The Babadook' uses this ideology because it is something of the unknown but at a glance sounds insignificance. filmmakers use negative dark words for their titles to entice people to watch their film. short dark words because it coins the question to the audience of what happens or who are these people and thousands of people would pay to get these questions answered. It is curiosity presented through dark words that makes a film have box office success and make money.
