Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
As part of our evaluation we had to create a commentary comparing our preliminary exercise to our final OTS. In our Preliminary we used a very basic set of shots where as with the OTS we used complex shots and angles to hook the audience and really give them a feel for the scene as if they're there. Within our prelim we didn't take into account the lighting making it look very amateur and dull where as the lighting in the OTS was full of life and made it more relatable. we used a lot more props like a gun and everyday school items like books watches and clothing in our OTS compared to the preliminary task which featured none, we believe that in doing this it would add to the realism of the final product. The music we used in our OTS is instantly contrasting with the school motif of the OTS and is relatable to our target audience which is 15 to 20 year olds because they either go to school or have recently finished their education. Our prelim used no music because of the manner we had to rush it in and we wouldn't be able to find any applicable music because it carried no major theme or fluidity. we essentially did no major editing in the prelim because it only needed to be a short video containing no continuity errors meaning that we just threw the clips into the editor. With our OTS we really thought about the way we needed to assemble the clips to help progress the story the way we needed it to by cutting and using fades where appropriate and added the respective title in the right order throughout.

In conclusion, since we made our prelim we have learnt a lot on how to use our skills effectively and how to make our media impactful to the audience. In our OTS we were thoughtful and took into a count every possibility to make it the most professional and best it could be. This was done through camera techniques ,editing ,lighting and music.
